性状：粉末，是一种非特异性、枯草杆菌蛋白酶相关的蛋白酶， 来源于念球菌(. Tritirachium album. )，具有很高的比活性。EDTA等鳌合剂或SDS等去垢剂不能使蛋白酶K失活，反而增强和稳定酶活性，并在较广的PH范围内（PH4-2.5）均有活性。在组织或细胞核酸分离时，使核酸酶（RNA和DNA）以及反应中其他酶失活。
用途：生化研究。广谱蛋白酶，95C 加热0 分钟，则*失活。可替代 DEPC 处理 RNA 抽提用的离心管和枪头，实现灭活 RNase A 的目的，也用于处理 RNase-Free的水。充分降解组织或细胞中蛋白质分子特别是核酸，以达到释放和萃取高质量核酸的辅助试剂。用于质粒或基因组DNA、RNA的分离以及蛋白多肽印迹实验。
